Speaking Opportunities: HealthTECH Workforce Forum: September 17,2010, San Diego

Signature Partners

Dear Healthcare Workforce Development Professional,

Billions of dollars in workforce development grants are being distributed to the healthcare community to support Electronic Health Records adoption. It is also anticipated that substantial federal funding will be provided to support Healthcare Reform.

Until now, there has not been an event bringing together ALL the community stakeholders to share our collective wisdom to leverage this funding and maximize outcomes focused specifically on workforce issues. The San Diego Workforce Investment Board and National University have partnered with HRMS Inc. to produce that event: The HealthTECH Workforce Forum, Friday September 17, 2010 in San Diego.

You were referred to us as someone with an interest in healthcare workforce development, and as a possible source of panelists, moderators, keynote speakers or professional career coaches who can play a role in putting together the pieces of the HealthTECH Workforce puzzle.

We anticipate welcoming hundreds of healthcare providers, government officials, public health agencies and educators to morning sessions to learn how Federal Economic Stimulus funding for EHR adoption and health reform legislation will impact the healthcare workforce.

Hundreds more are expected in the afternoon for a separate event for incumbent workers, students and dislocated workers with transferable skills. They will be attending health technology career advancement workshops, and visiting healthcare employers and educators in the exhibit area.

Feel free to forward this email to your colleagues who would be qualified to speak on healthcare workforce issues being impacted by EHR and/or healthcare reform. Knowledge of the San Diego region healthcare labor market is important for most of the speaking opportunities, but not all.

Please visit the Forum web site page for program content, speaking, and exhibiting/sponsorship information.

We will finalize the program agenda and speakers over the next week. Interested parties should send an email with their full bio/CV by Wednesday, July 21, to blaze@hrms.net. Please be sure to indicate which session or workshop you want to be considered for speaking. If you live and work within the San Diego area, you may also apply to provide career coaching at the event. Speakers and career coaches will be provided full access to the conference and all meals without charge.

Thank you very much in advance for your time,

Richard Katz

PS: HRMS is producing a similar event for the Bridgeport, Connecticut Workforce Investment Board in November 2010. Feel free to pass this email to your colleagues in that region.
